As only a true native of the Deep South would, I prefer pearls over diamonds, grits over oatmeal, and an ice cold glass of sweet tea over the hot stuff. I was born and raised a Georgia Bulldawg in rural Moultrie, Georgia. I love the small town life, but traveling the world has always been my passion, second only to food. For me, getting lost in a foreign country is only the beginning of the fun. It’s stumbling upon that restaurant while I’m lost when the rest of the fun happens. Susan Sontag said it better than I ever could, “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list”…along with finding the world’s best dishes while I’m at it.

I am a graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.S.F.C.S. in Consumer Journalism and a B.A. in Spanish. I am currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Upon graduation, I hope to write food and travel articles, develop bilingual cookbooks, work in test kitchens, and instruct cooking classes. This blog serves as a platform for me to share my experience with food, traveling, and life (the little of it that I’ve lived) with you. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I love sharing, and that you laugh and learn a little in the process.
